Durga Puja, the autumn festival is one of the most important religious festivals of the Bengalis residing in India and various parts of the globe. UK Durga Puja is celebrated with great devotion, sincerity and excitement all over the world and London is no exception.

Durga Puja in UK has started by a few pioneer and dedicated Bengalis with the help of a popular journalist of a popular newspaper of Kolkata in the sixties.  It’s quite astonishing to know that a good number of outstanding idols of Goddess Durga are brought from Kumartuli, Kolkata to form an integral part of the auspicious celebration of Durga Puja in UK.

Since last 40 years, the Bengali community of United Kingdom are organizing and enjoying the flavor Durga Puja, the most prominent festival of Bengalis and Hindus. Usually, they ship the Durga idol from a place called Kumartuli, situated in North Kolkata.
